What has ‘made’ you?

Growing up on a small island in the corner of the Pacific Ocean with a kiwi ‘can do’ attitude really shaped me and my outlook on life. A heritage of immigrants, pioneers and explorers, we are programmed to DIY, recycle, make do and innovate with very little. Being practical, economical, innovative and ‘handy’ is second nature, which has given me a unique outlook on life and to my work.

I’m proud to be a New Zealander and feel really lucky to have grown up in a small supportive community. It definitly had a helping hand and made me who I am today.

Who or what inspires you?

People who create and do things to make the world a better place. People who follow their hearts, do what they are passionate about and find their true voice.

What have you learned that you intend to pass on?

Having a toddler makes you realise that you are a teacher everyday.

Here are a few things I hope I pass on to her: always keep asking questions, don’t be afraid of making mistakes and always, always dream big.
