Is Writing On Medium A Waste Of Time?

It has been more than six months since I first heard of Medium and joined the partner program. I started with high hopes and perhaps with unrealistic expectations. A person who is very successful on Medium had sent out an email saying that this is a program where you CAN get paid for writing. That may be true if you are willing to work for peanuts (or pennies per day). I decided to give it a try.

Reading about the experiences of others on Medium can be discouraging OR encouraging. It may show you that YES, it can be done. You might be like some of them and earn a lot of money IF you are consistent AND lucky. You could be like the others who have never made it to that $100 a month mark. Either way, you can continue on with hope if you still believe in the possibility.

No one knows what the future will bring. It is a choice that a person has to make whether to stick with something which is not working well but may be working slightly or to move on to something else. Who knows if success is just around the corner or you are wasting your time?

The Medium stats looked pretty good for a while. The earnings were increasing every month so that was a good sign even if the $100 threshold had not been reached. Then something changed. The views, reads, and earnings took a dive. They went down instead of up.

The fact is that some people are doing extremely well with Medium and earning a good income from it. If you are one of those, congratulations. Your success gives hope to others.

Is writing on Medium a waste of time? Only you can answer that question. Life has many challenges and many opportunities. Medium is both an opportunity and a challenge.

If you are not one of the big success stories yet, you could be. Life might be good to you, and your luck can change. Success may be coming soon. We can and should have hope.
