I Got My Eyelids Tattooed

Life Experiences

Because dolphins & roses are so last season

Not to brag but I have at least 13 tattoos, 2 of which are half-sleeves & the majority of the rest are large pieces. I have spent probably more than $2000 & 70 hours in the tattooist’s chair having custom work done. I’ve been tattooed by machine and also using hand tools.
It's fair to say getting tattooed is my stress reliever & if you aren’t new to my work then you should know that stress is the glue that holds me together. Tattoos keep me sane.

I also love makeup & eyeliner. I have naturally fair skin & hair, so my lashes are blonde. I use makeup to give me more prominent features. Eyeliner is one of my favorite looks but you simply can’t rush it otherwise you end up with wonky eyes.

I used to work in a job where makeup wasn’t always a good idea.
After all, there are only so many times you can be hit in the face with some sort of liquid (If you were lucky it wasn’t bodily fluids) before you get fed up of washing your face with sanitizer & having to reapply your makeup in the work toilet mirror before you start looking for short cuts & alternatives.

I researched permanent makeup artists near me & found one that had good reviews. I sent my deposit & booked my appointment. It was a few months away due to the demand, but that gave me more time to save up. Like all tattoos, you get what you pay for & since this is my face, I want to make sure I am in the hands of a reputable beautician.

Expect to pay anything upwards of $500 for a top & bottom lash tattoo from a decent beautician.

The process for eyeliner isn’t quite the same as getting a regular tattoo because the pigment is deposited only into the first layers of the skin. The ink used for regular body tattoos is formulated differently and goes much deeper. But it follows similar principles — A needle is still used to deposit ink into the skin. Aside from the difference in inks and techniques, the preparation for permanent or semi-permanent makeup application is just like any other tattoo.
