We watched an episode of Three’s Company and learned truly how progressive that show was for its time. After that he asked us questions about what we thought on various topics. He then asked something about women specifically being called out in the media when the woman involved was not at fault. I spoke up to say that I really hadn’t seen many of these headlines, until Dr. Jackson showed us multiple examples of them. I would like to clarify what I was meaning here…

The media that usually surrounds me is: instagram, NPR, different podcasts, and sometimes Good Morning America if I get up early enough. With all of these, I’ve never really seen/heard of any headlines that solely changed the idea of the article to put the woman on a pedestal of blame. I also recall one of our classmates say something as well on the topic, but to be honest, I completely forgot what he said.

I’m not trying to say that women being headlined with blame isn’t happening, it is, but I don’t think its prevalent in the media sources that I surround myself with…
